Combines powerful infrastructure

Cloud Engineer®

Cloud Engineer® is a platform that combines powerful infrastructure (server, storage, networking, and software) and cloud computing technology with advanced remote desktop software that uses server-based and/or stand-alone 3D graphics workstations to support professionals needing remote access to advanced graphics capabilities.

Solution- Remote 3D Visualization

Cloud Engineer® combination of Graphics adapter, Servers, Hypervisor and Graphics processing products and offerings can provide the solutions that scales from the requirements of a small work-group to those of large global companies to virtually deliver high performance 3D graphics solutions.

Cloud Engineer® as a system with provides fast remote access and visualization solutions for all 3D applications.

Remote 3D graphics visualization is a client-server process, but with a twist: A 3D graphics application runs on the server in the cloud, while Client Software, known as a receiver, runs on the end user's computer and communicates with the 3D graphics application running on the server. Cloud Engineer® runs on the server and transmits the screen display to the end user's computer to redisplay it on its screen. Cloud Engineer® only needs 2 Mbps of network bandwidth to deliver excellent user experiences with its data encryption/decryption techniques. Together with traversing data through the datacenter network, Cloud Engineer® can deliver an even high throughput.

Remote 3D System Architecture

Cloud Engineer® can also run on a variety of different platforms including Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OS, Android, and Apple iOS. This variety of platforms provides support for mobile users out in the field or on the shop floor. It allows mobile users to access data on data center storage at high speed over data-center networks, as if everything resides locally.

Remote 3D Application Scenarios

For PLM users and 3D design software users, this solution can take advantage of GPU hardware to perform graphics operations through either Microsoft DirectX or OpenGL. Cloud Engineer® allows data to be rendered quickly and smoothly on the remote server while maintaining the data security and integrity on the servers. In addition, Cloud Engineer supports all 3D Microsoft Windows applications with the same mechanism to keep operations all coherent. Cloud Engineer® can operate in several different modes; it can be configured to share a GPU across multiple users, to dedicate a GPU for each user, or to allow a single user to access multiple GPUs to support extreme graphic demands.

The second part of the remote 3D graphics visualization solution is the infrastructure, which includes the server, storage, network and software. Cloud Engineer® solution enables GPUs to support many users, as well as allowing single or multiple GPUs to be dedicated to individual users. Virtualization allows remote 3D visualization users to appear to have their own Windows workstation and leverage the DCV technology. Cloud Engineer® can support this infrastructure with servers installed on premise or can provide access to the cloud.

In addition to the remote access of cloud servers' hardware capabilities, Cloud Engineer® also supports users to use the GPU and CPU on the workstations as a cloud server, while the data is still stored and managed on the server.
